What Odoo publishes about manufacturing pricing
Unlike most ERP vendors, Odoo lists prices per user. There is a One App Free plan, Standard and Custom. Manufacturing comes with All apps on Standard and Custom, so a plant that also needs inventory, purchasing, sales and accounting is on one of those two. Odoo's page shows two figures per plan, one for each billing term, and notes that a first year discount applies to initial users. Prices are in euros, so convert at your bank's rate.
| Plan | Per user a month | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| One App Free | 0 EUR | One app, unlimited users. Not enough for a plant that needs Manufacturing plus Inventory and Accounting |
| Standard | 19.90 or 24.90 EUR | All apps including Manufacturing, Inventory, Purchase and Accounting |
| Custom | 35.90 or 44.90 EUR | All apps with the higher feature tier, see Odoo's page for the difference |
| Light User | 7.90 EUR | Limited access for people who only need a few screens, quoted through an Odoo advisor |
Check the live page before you budget, since Odoo changes plan contents and discounts. The lower figure on each plan is the annual term, the higher the monthly term, as far as we can tell from the page.
What actually moves an Odoo manufacturing bill
The license is the small part. These lines decide the total.
- Implementation. A partner configures bills of materials, routings, work centers, stock locations and the chart of accounts, and loads your data. Partners quote hours by phase, and Odoo does not publish a price
- Customization. Extra fields, workflows and reports are partner hours, and the higher plan exists for plants that need more of it
- Light User seats. Shop floor staff who only need a work order screen can take the cheaper seat, but each one is still counted
- Add on apps. Odoo's standard planning places work orders by date, so plants that need finite capacity look at paid apps from other publishers, one listing starting at 249 USD
- Hosting and upgrades. Odoo.sh or self hosting adds a monthly cost and upgrade testing each year
What Odoo costs a 20 user plant over three years, worked through
Take a make to order plant with 20 full users and 25 shop floor staff on Light User seats, one site, all apps. License figures are 36 months at Odoo's listed prices. The implementation range is our planning assumption for a small manufacturing rollout, not a quote.
| Scenario | Licenses over three years | Implementation | Three year total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard at 19.90 EUR, floor staff on Light User | 14,328 plus 7,110 EUR | 10,000 EUR | 31,438 EUR |
| Standard at 24.90 EUR, floor staff on Light User | 17,928 plus 7,110 EUR | 20,000 EUR | 45,038 EUR |
| Custom at 35.90 EUR, floor staff on Light User | 25,848 plus 7,110 EUR | 30,000 EUR | 62,958 EUR |
| ProductionPlanning.ai Plant, unlimited users, USD | 7,722 USD | none, spreadsheet import | 7,722 USD |
| ProductionPlanning.ai Line, unlimited users, USD | 2,682 USD | none | 2,682 USD |
Sums: 20 users times 36 months at the listed price, plus 25 Light User seats times 36 months at 7.90 EUR. The two currencies are not converted.
These are not the same purchase. Odoo money buys inventory, purchasing, sales and accounting with manufacturing attached. Our money buys a finite capacity schedule with a projected finish date on every order. For a plant that keeps Odoo for the records and ships late anyway, the schedule is the smaller fix, and the Odoo manufacturing alternative page shows how the two sit side by side.
Odoo pricing model next to a flat price per plant
| What you pay for | Odoo Manufacturing | ProductionPlanning.ai |
|---|---|---|
| Price published | Yes, per user on Odoo's page | Yes, on the pricing page |
| Unit | Per user a month, Light User cheaper | Plant, unlimited users |
| Shop floor users | Light User seats or full seats | Included |
| Implementation | Partner hours, quoted separately | None, import a spreadsheet the same afternoon |
| Finite capacity scheduling | Planning by date, finite capacity needs an add on | The whole product, every work center |
| Contract | Monthly or annual | Monthly and cancellable, or yearly at half price |
| Inventory, purchasing, accounting | Yes | No, keep your current system |
Our plans are listed on the production scheduling software pricing page.
What to ask the Odoo partner before you sign
Partners price differently, so get these answers in writing before you compare two proposals.
- Which plan do you assume, Standard or Custom, and why?
- How many Light User seats and how many full users, and what happens when a supervisor needs more access?
- How many implementation hours by phase, and who pays when they run over?
- Does the standard planning stop a work center from being overbooked, and if not, which paid app do you recommend and who supports it?
- What does hosting, backup and the yearly upgrade cost?
- What is the renewal price after the first year discount ends?
If the partner quote arrives as a PDF, it helps to pull the line items into a spreadsheet so two proposals sit in the same columns.
Odoo manufacturing pricing questions buyers ask
How much does Odoo Manufacturing cost?
Odoo Manufacturing is included in the All apps plans. Odoo's page lists Standard at 19.90 or 24.90 EUR per user a month and Custom at 35.90 or 44.90 EUR, depending on the billing term. Light User access is 7.90 EUR. A 20 user plant on Standard pays roughly 14,300 to 17,900 EUR in licenses over three years.
Is Odoo Manufacturing free?
Odoo has a One App Free plan, but it covers a single app, so a plant that also needs inventory, purchasing and accounting moves to a paid plan. Manufacturing is included with All apps on Standard and Custom. Implementation by a partner is a separate cost and is usually the larger part of the bill.
How much does an Odoo implementation cost?
Odoo does not publish implementation prices because partners quote them by scope. Our three year table assumes 10,000 to 30,000 EUR for a small manufacturing rollout with bills of materials, routings and data import. That is a planning assumption, not a quote, so ask the partner for hours by phase in writing.
Does Odoo have finite capacity scheduling?
Odoo plans work orders on each work center's calendar and shows them in a Gantt view, but the standard planning does not stop several orders from filling the same hours. Plants that need finite capacity usually add a third party app or a separate scheduler. Ask the partner what your version enforces.
What does a scheduling tool cost next to Odoo?
ProductionPlanning.ai costs 149 USD per plant a month on Line or 429 USD on Plant, with unlimited users. Over three years that is 2,682 USD or 7,722 USD for the whole plant, with no per user fees and no project. It runs next to Odoo, which keeps inventory, purchasing and accounting.
Price the schedule before you price the project
Start on the Line plan at 149 USD a month with the whole plant included, or run the demo on a sample week of orders first. You will see your own bottleneck the same afternoon.
