What NetSuite publishes about manufacturing pricing

Nothing with a dollar sign. NetSuite sells through its own sales team and through partners, and every quote is built from the edition, the modules, the number of full users and the contract length. The numbers below come from implementation firms, ERP directories and marketplaces that track quotes, and they do not agree with each other.

Two structural points matter before the first call. NetSuite charges a base platform or edition fee and then a license per user, so a small user count does not make the bill small. And the manufacturing edition is a bundle: work orders, bills of materials, routing and planning sit in the edition, while advanced manufacturing and scheduling features are often priced as additional modules.

The NetSuite price estimates you will find online

Source type Edition or base fee Per user a month Implementation
NetSuite implementation firm SuiteSuccess Manufacturing edition, 2,000 to 6,000 USD a month by size and users Employee self service at about 15 to 25 USD Quoted by scope
ERP directory Not listed 99 to 199 USD Tens of thousands
Software marketplace Not listed From 125 USD Not listed
Cost guide Not listed About 129 USD for a per user license Tens of thousands
Launch press coverage 2,499 USD a month per company, no extra edition user fee 99 USD for standard NetSuite Not listed

Figures as reported by each source. None is a NetSuite quote, and the launch era price is old and probably does not reflect today's list. One source adds that discounts of 20 to 40 percent are common on three year commitments, which we could not verify.

The spread comes from what each source counts. A per user figure alone leaves out the edition. An edition figure alone leaves out the users. Ask for both on the proposal, and ask which modules are inside the edition and which are priced beside it.

What actually moves a NetSuite manufacturing quote

  • The edition. Manufacturing costs more than the standard suite because work orders, routing and planning come with it
  • Full users and what they can do. A planner who runs work orders needs a full license, while a supervisor who only looks may fit a cheaper access type
  • Modules beside the edition. Advanced manufacturing, quality, shop floor data collection and scheduling extensions each carry their own price
  • Partner services. Configuration, data migration, reports and training are billed by the hour or as a fixed project, and this is usually the largest line in year one
  • Contract length and renewal terms. Multi year terms are discounted, and renewals can step up, which decides what year four costs
  • Third party products. Many NetSuite plants add EDI, finite scheduling or barcode tools from other publishers

What NetSuite costs a 30 user plant over three years, worked through

Take a make to order plant with 30 full NetSuite users across finance, purchasing, sales and planning, one site, manufacturing edition. The implementation figures are our planning assumptions for a small project, not quotes.

Scenario Software over three years Implementation Three year total
High estimate, 6,000 USD edition and 199 USD per user 430,920 USD 90,000 USD 520,920 USD
Middle estimate, 4,000 USD edition and 129 USD per user 283,320 USD 60,000 USD 343,320 USD
Low estimate, 2,000 USD edition and 99 USD per user 178,920 USD 40,000 USD 218,920 USD
ProductionPlanning.ai Plant, unlimited users 7,722 USD none, spreadsheet import 7,722 USD

Each software figure is 36 months of the edition fee plus 30 users at the per user price. Read them as budgeting ranges and replace them with your quote.

These are not the same purchase. NetSuite money buys the general ledger, purchasing, inventory, order management and manufacturing in one system. Our money buys a finite capacity schedule with a projected finish date on every order. The comparison matters for one kind of buyer: the plant whose real reason for an ERP project is late orders and a schedule nobody trusts. For that buyer the schedule can be fixed in a week next to the accounting system already in place, and the ERP decision can wait for a reason of its own.

What to ask on the NetSuite pricing call

Quotes are built differently by every seller, so ask for each of these in writing before you compare two proposals.

  • What is the edition fee per month, and what does it include?
  • How many full users, and what does one more planner or supervisor cost?
  • Which manufacturing modules are inside the edition, and which sit beside it at their own price?
  • What are the implementation hours by phase, and what happens when they run over?
  • Which third party products does the plan rely on for scheduling, EDI or quality, and who supports them?
  • What is the renewal uplift, and what does year four cost?

If the order form runs long, it helps to read the order form clause by clause and mark renewal terms and price protection before the review meeting.

NetSuite manufacturing pricing questions buyers ask

How much does NetSuite cost for a manufacturing company?

NetSuite does not publish a Manufacturing edition price. Estimates put the edition at roughly 2,000 to 6,000 USD a month plus 99 to 199 USD per user a month, and implementation in the tens of thousands. A 30 user plant should budget roughly 220,000 to 520,000 USD over three years, project included.

How much does NetSuite cost per user per month?

Third party estimates run from about 99 to 199 USD per user a month for full licenses, with 125 and 129 USD quoted as typical. Lower tier employee access is cheaper, around 15 to 25 USD. The per user fee is only part of the bill, because the base platform, modules and the edition are charged on top.

Does NetSuite have a manufacturing edition?

Yes. NetSuite sells a manufacturing edition of its ERP, built on its standard suite with work orders, bills of materials, routing and planning added. NetSuite does not publish a price for it. Quotes come from NetSuite or a partner and depend on users, modules, and contract length.

How much does a NetSuite implementation cost?

Implementation is often quoted in the tens of thousands of dollars for a small manufacturer and climbs with modules, integrations and data migration. Partners bill hours by phase, so ask for the hours in writing. Our three year table assumes 40,000 to 90,000 USD, which is a planning assumption and not a quote.

Is NetSuite too expensive for a small manufacturer?

For a plant under about 30 people it usually is. Even the low estimate lands near 5,000 USD a month before implementation. Small plants often compare it with Business Central, Acumatica or an MRP tool, or fix the schedule first and leave the ERP decision for a reason of its own.

What is a cheaper alternative to NetSuite for manufacturing?

For a whole ERP, plants compare Business Central, Acumatica, Odoo and Epicor Kinetic. For a plant whose real problem is late orders, ProductionPlanning.ai is a finite capacity scheduler at 149 USD per plant a month on Line or 429 USD on Plant, with unlimited users. It runs next to your current system.

Price the schedule before you price the ERP

If late orders are why you are pricing NetSuite, fix the schedule first. Start on Line at 149 USD a month, or run the demo on a sample week of orders and see your bottleneck today. The manufacturing ERP alternative hub lines up the other systems buyers compare, the NetSuite alternative for small manufacturers page puts the same numbers on one comparison, the Odoo manufacturing alternative covers the low cost end, with the Odoo manufacturing pricing math, and SAP Business One pricing does the same math for B1.
