What the published sources say about Sage 100 pricing
Sage sells Sage 100 only through resellers, and each reseller quotes its own bundle. We looked at cost trackers and reseller guides in November 2026. They disagree, so the table shows ranges, not a list price.
| Item | What third party sources report | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | About 55 to 150 USD per user a month | One source starts near 94 USD, the spread follows edition |
| Perpetual license | About 1,500 to 4,000 USD per concurrent user, other sources say 3,000 to 6,000 USD | Concurrent means seats in use at one time, not named people |
| Annual maintenance | About 20 percent of the license | Needed for updates and support |
| Advanced edition | Reported 30 to 40 percent more per user than Essentials | Where Bill of Materials and Work Order modules sit for most manufacturers |
| Implementation | About 15,000 to 120,000 USD | Depends on modules, data migration and customization |
None of these is a quote. Ask the reseller for an itemized proposal and check whether each line is a license, a module, a service or a support fee.
What actually moves a Sage 100 bill for a manufacturer
Licenses are only part of it. These lines decide the total.
- The edition. Standard is the base, Advanced adds the modules most plants need, and Premium sits above. A manufacturer rarely stays on the cheapest tier
- The modules. Bill of Materials, Work Order, Material Requirements Planning and job costing are separate line items in many quotes
- Concurrent versus named users. Concurrent licensing is cheaper for shift workers, but every planner who needs the system at the same time takes a seat
- Implementation. A reseller configures items, routings, warehouses and the chart of accounts, migrates data and trains users. This is where quotes diverge most
- Add ons. Sage 100 plans material needs from lead times. A finite sequence per machine usually means a scheduling add on priced by its own publisher
How long does a Sage 100 implementation take?
A distribution and accounting rollout often takes weeks. Adding work orders, routings and data migration usually stretches it to several months, according to reseller guides. A schedule that runs next to Sage takes an afternoon: import a spreadsheet of open orders and enter shifts.
What Sage 100 costs a 20 user plant over three years, worked through
Take a make to order plant with 20 full users, one site. License figures use the third party ranges above. Implementation is shown as the reported low and high, not as our estimate of your project.
| Scenario | Licenses over three years | Implementation | Three year total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscription at 55 USD per user a month | 39,600 USD | 15,000 USD | 54,600 USD |
| Subscription at 150 USD per user a month | 108,000 USD | 120,000 USD | 228,000 USD |
| Perpetual at 1,500 USD per user plus 20 percent maintenance | 30,000 plus 18,000 USD | 15,000 USD | 63,000 USD |
| Perpetual at 4,000 USD per user plus 20 percent maintenance | 80,000 plus 48,000 USD | 120,000 USD | 248,000 USD |
| Your current Sage plus ProductionPlanning.ai Line | no change | none for the schedule | 5,364 USD added |
| Your current Sage plus ProductionPlanning.ai Plant | no change | none for the schedule | 15,444 USD added |
The last two rows do not replace Sage. They show the cost of getting a finite schedule when the reason you are shopping is late orders. The scheduler prices are monthly billing for 36 months at 149 and 429 USD. Annual billing is lower.
What to ask the reseller before you accept the quote
- Which edition do my 20 users need, and which modules are listed as separate lines
- Is the license subscription or perpetual, and are the seats concurrent or named
- Does the quote include migration of open work orders and routings, or only master data
- What does finite capacity scheduling cost per year, who publishes it and who supports it after a Sage update
- How many hours are budgeted for planner training, and what is the hourly rate after go live
If the answer on scheduling is another add on and more hours, look at the Sage 100 manufacturing alternative that runs next to your ledger instead.
Sage 100 pricing compared with a flat price per plant
Per user pricing grows with every planner, supervisor and salesperson who needs to see the plan. A flat price per plant does not. ProductionPlanning.ai costs 149 USD a month on Line or 429 USD on Plant, with unlimited users, a published price and a cancel anytime monthly plan. It does not replace the ledger, purchasing or inventory. It reads open orders and routings from a spreadsheet export, loads every work center against real shifts and setups, and names the orders that will ship late. Plants weighing a bigger move can start on our manufacturing ERP alternative hub and the Business Central pricing article. When supplier invoices arrive as PDFs that someone retypes into purchase orders, an invoice data extractor that turns PDF invoices into rows you can import removes some of that keying before it ever reaches Sage.
Sage 100 pricing questions manufacturers ask
How much does Sage 100 cost?
Sage publishes no US list price. Cost trackers report roughly 55 to 150 USD per user a month on subscription, or 1,500 to 4,000 USD per concurrent user as a perpetual license plus about 20 percent yearly maintenance. Modules and reseller services are extra, so an itemized quote is the only real number.
How much does Sage 100 cost for a manufacturer?
Manufacturers usually need the Advanced edition for Bill of Materials and Work Order modules, reported at 30 to 40 percent more per user than Essentials. For 20 users that is about 39,600 to 108,000 USD over three years on subscription, before implementation, which third party sources put at 15,000 to 120,000 USD.
Is Sage 100 subscription or perpetual?
Both are sold. Sage moved its emphasis to subscription, and perpetual licenses are still available through resellers with annual maintenance near 20 percent. Subscription lowers the upfront cost but compounds over time. Compare the three year totals, not the first invoice.
Does Sage 100 have production scheduling?
Sage 100 plans material needs from bills of materials and lead times, and issues work orders. It does not build a finite sequence per machine against real shifts and setups. Many plants add a scheduling product or use a separate scheduler. ProductionPlanning.ai costs 149 USD per plant a month with unlimited users.
What is the cheapest way to fix late orders in a Sage 100 plant?
Keep Sage for accounting and stock and add a scheduler that reads a spreadsheet export of open orders. That avoids another ERP project and a per user module fee. Run it on a real week of orders and compare the late order list with what your Sage planning shows before you buy anything else.
Price the schedule before you price the module
Run the demo on a real week of orders and compare the late order list with what Sage 100 shows today. Then decide whether you are buying another module or a schedule.
