What Fulcrum publishes about its pricing
Fulcrum, the manufacturing ERP at fulcrumpro.com that most buyers search as Fulcrum Pro, keeps its pricing on a sales call. Its public site commits to a few things that shape the number.
- Pricing is driven by your gross revenue, not by how many people log in
- Every plan includes unlimited users, so operators, leads and the office all get access
- Implementation is a fixed, one time launch fee with "no billable hours", run by Fulcrum's own team rather than an outside partner
- Unlimited support is included after launch, with a dedicated account manager
That is a cleaner model than most job shop ERPs, which quote per seat and bill implementation by the hour. What it does not give you is a number you can put in a budget before the call.
Fulcrum Pro pricing estimates you will find online
Because Fulcrum publishes nothing, the figures in circulation come from review and directory sites. The most detailed is SoftwareConnect. Treat these as third party estimates, not a Fulcrum price list.
| Tier, per SoftwareConnect | Revenue band | Subscription per year | Launch fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | 0 to 3M USD | 6,000 USD | 5,000 USD |
| Core | 0 to 3M USD | 12,000 USD | 5,400 USD |
| Pro | 0 to 3M USD | 18,000 USD | 8,100 USD |
Other listings quote a starting point of about 800 USD a month, which is closer to the Core figure than the Base one. The two are not necessarily in conflict: bands and packaging change, and a shop just past 3M USD in revenue will not be quoted the same as a two person startup. Capterra and G2 show no public price for Fulcrum at all. The one fact every source agrees on is the shape: revenue sets the band, integrations push the price up, and users are unlimited.
What actually moves a Fulcrum quote
Four things decide the number on your proposal. Have an answer to each before the call and the quote comes back faster and closer to reality.
- Last year's revenue. It places you in a band, so know the real figure rather than a round guess. If the books are a few months behind, turning the bank statements into a spreadsheet is the quickest way to reconcile the year before you quote it to a vendor
- Revenue you expect next year. A band based price rises when the shop grows, so ask where the next band starts and what it costs
- Integrations. QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite sync, a CRM, nesting software for the laser, machine monitoring. SoftwareConnect says each one and its complexity can raise the price
- Launch scope. How much history, how many part routings and which workflows move over at go live. The fee is fixed once agreed, so the scope is where you negotiate
Users are not on this list, which is the good news. Putting a screen at every machine costs nothing extra.
What Fulcrum costs over three years, worked through
Here is the arithmetic for a 12 person job shop with 2.4M USD in revenue, using the SoftwareConnect figures. It is a sketch rather than a quote, and your proposal will differ.
| Cost line | Base tier | Pro tier |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription, 3 years | 18,000 USD | 54,000 USD |
| One time launch fee | 5,000 USD | 8,100 USD |
| Your own hours for data, setup and training | Your time | Your time |
| Three year total before your own time | 23,000 USD | 62,100 USD |
| Per month, spread over 36 months | About 640 USD | About 1,725 USD |
For a shop that replaces quoting, job tracking, purchasing and the books with Fulcrum, that is reasonable money. Paper travelers, a quoting spreadsheet and QuickBooks jobs cost real hours every week, and one system removes a lot of double entry.
For a shop whose complaint is "we never know which job will be late", it is a lot to pay to fix one problem. A finite capacity scheduler on our Line plan costs 1,490 USD a year paid yearly, and Plant costs 4,290 USD, so 4,470 or 12,870 USD over the same three years, with no launch fee. The side by side is on our Fulcrum Pro alternative page.
What to ask Fulcrum on the pricing call
Write these down before the call. They are the questions that change the number.
- Which revenue band am I in, where does the next band start, and what does it cost
- Is the price locked for the term, and what is the renewal increase cap
- Which of my integrations are included, and which add to the subscription
- What exactly does the launch fee cover: data migration, routings, training, how many sessions
- What is the minimum term, and is it billed annually up front
- If we start with scheduling and job tracking only, is there a smaller package
- What happens to our data, and in what format, if we leave
Ask for the quote at this year's revenue and at the revenue you expect in two years. With band pricing, the second number decides whether the system still fits the budget once the shop grows.
Fulcrum pricing compared with a flat price per plant
| Fulcrum | ProductionPlanning.ai | |
|---|---|---|
| Price visibility | Quote only | Published on the pricing page |
| What sets the price | Revenue band and integrations | Number of plants |
| Users | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| One time fee | Fixed launch fee, 5,000 USD and up per SoftwareConnect | None |
| What the money buys | ERP and MES: quoting, jobs, scheduling, inventory, quality, accounting | Finite capacity scheduling, shortages, shop floor status, forecasting |
| Entry price | About 6,000 USD a year, per SoftwareConnect | 1,490 USD a year on Line |
These are different products. Fulcrum replaces how the whole shop runs. We fix the schedule and leave the rest alone. If you are comparing ERPs rather than schedulers, our ProShop ERP pricing and JobBOSS pricing breakdowns use the same method, and the best production scheduling software ranking puts seven tools and their published prices on one table.
Fulcrum ERP pricing questions people ask
How much does Fulcrum Pro cost?
Fulcrum does not publish a price. Third party listings say it is set by annual revenue and integrations, with unlimited users. SoftwareConnect lists 6,000, 12,000 and 18,000 USD a year for its Base, Core and Pro tiers in the 0 to 3M USD revenue band, plus a one time launch fee of 5,000 to 8,100 USD.
Does Fulcrum charge per user?
No. Every Fulcrum plan includes unlimited users. The price follows your revenue band and the systems you connect instead. That makes Fulcrum cheaper than per seat ERPs for shops with many operators, and more expensive over time for shops whose revenue grows faster than their headcount.
How much is Fulcrum implementation?
Fulcrum charges a fixed, one time launch fee and says there are no billable hours. It does not publish the amount. SoftwareConnect lists 5,000 USD for the Base tier, 5,400 USD for Core and 8,100 USD for Pro in the smallest revenue band, which is low for a job shop ERP.
Does Fulcrum have a free trial?
Fulcrum sells through a demo with its team rather than a self serve trial. If you want to test a schedule on your own jobs before committing to anything, our demo runs on a sample week in the browser, and paid plans start at 149 USD per plant a month.
Is Fulcrum worth it for a small job shop?
It can be, if the shop wants one system from quote to invoice and has someone to own the launch. If the shop quotes and invoices fine and mainly ships late, 23,000 USD or more over three years is a lot to spend on a scheduling problem, and a dedicated scheduler at 1,490 to 4,290 USD a year solves it faster.
Price the schedule before you price the ERP
If late orders are the problem, fix them first for a flat price per plant with the whole shop included. Start on Line at 149 USD a month, or run the demo on a sample week of jobs and see where your bottleneck really is.
